Llangennith Parish Hall Playing Field update

Many thanks to those who sacrificed watching the Swans cup game and instead came to our public

Update 2 on progress with development of Recreation field

January 2015

consultation on the 24th January.  We had a very productive couple of hours hearing your thoughts and hopes about the playing field development.

What next? We are still really keen to hear from you to help form our detailed plans.  See below for how you can get in touch.  We will now be developing tenders for the playground, ground works and ramp and the ground source heat pump.  We are aiming for the construction stage to be Summer-Autumn 2015 with a grand formal opening in May 2016 (to hopefully capitalise on the weather).  Our website and Facebook page has more details.

How you can get involved? The children’s playground, drained and levelled grassed area and landscaped area will be open to the public 365 days a year.  It is not just for Llangennith but for the wider communities in North and West Gower who currently have to travel many miles to a public park and play facilities. If you live in the surrounding area and couldn’t attend the consultation meeting, you can find out more on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/llangennithhall.llangennith  or website http://www.llangennith-hall.co.uk including our updated timeline and key facts about the project.

We’d love to hear from all ages and all parts of the wider Gower community – this is your park and playing fields and now is your chance to have a say on the facilities and equipment it can provide.  You can leave us feedback, questions or a message through our Facebook or website, or if you prefer to chat, give us a call.  Rachel Searle 01792 386322, Steve Rimell 01792 386685

We are also looking for volunteers to help us with fundraising, planning and supporting events, setting up new groups etc.  We have had a suggestion of a boules area and informal football and cricket equipment.  Is there something that you would like to see?  How about a regular Teddy Bear’s picnic or annual strawberry tea or village show?  Are you a toddler group or school or children’s group who would like to use the new facilities? We especially want to hear from children and young people and their families.  Now is your chance to help design your dream play area.  We are open to ideas.  If there is something you would like to do or a talent you can share with others, please get in touch via our Facebook page, website or give us a call.  We are also looking for a Welsh translator for the project and it would be great to source one locally.  Please get in touch if you can help.

We look forward to hearing from you,

Rachel Searle.
