Marie Bruce, 01792-386740, is running Pilates classes in the main Hall on Mondays 9.30-10.30am (mixed ability), Tuesday 9.30-10.30 (beginners) and Wednesdays 6.30-7.30pm (mixed/intermediate). Attendance is only for those who have booked with Marie beforehand.
Pilates is an exercise system that focuses on stretching and strengthening the whole body to improve balance, muscle-strength, flexibility and posture. It was created by German-born Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s and incorporates elements of yoga, martial arts and Western forms of exercise.
Pilates can help improve posture, muscle tone and flexibility, core strength and joint mobility, as well as relieve stress and tension.
