Meetings are usually held on the 4th Monday of each month at Llangennith Hall at 7.30pm.
Llangennith WI was officially established on 15 March 1921. We currently have around 30 members, ages spanning from 25 to 85, many from Llangennith village but also some from further afield. Our WI is part of both the Glamorgan and National Federations of Women's Institutes. Annual subscription covers all the costs of our monthly meetings, including speakers and refreshments, and also entitles members to receive the Glamorgan Federation newsletters and NFWI magazine "WI Life". The current President is Mary Lewis, 01792-386341.
The Women's Institute is the largest voluntary organisation for women in the UK, with a growing membership currently standing at around 205,000 members. It offers all kinds of opportunities to all kinds of women, but above all for us it is about fellowship.
Think you might be interested in joining? Why not come along to a few meetings to see what you think. Annual Subscription for 2014 is £33.50
Membership of the WI also brings opportunities to participate in activities and meetings organized by the Glamorgan and National Federations, and to attend a wide range of courses at Denman College, the WI's own residential training facility near Oxford.
